4-H is a community of young people across America that are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. It is the youth component of the University of Wyoming Extension.
4-H is an informal, practical, learning-by-doing program for youth. The purpose of 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing skills, and forming attitudes to enable youth to become self-directing, productive members of society.
Professional and volunteer staffs provide educational projects and activities in shooting sports, animal science, family consumer sciences, leisure arts, citizenship, and leadership.
