Conditions and Updates

Nordic Trails Conditions Update for December 15, 2017

  • Casper Mountain received 3" of new snow during the week.  Both the Maze and Strube have cleaned up pretty good with thin spots throughout the trail system.
  • On average there is 1-3" groomed base so recreationalists are urged to use caution as obsticles exist throughout the trails system.
  • We are expecting new snow starting Friday night (12/15) through Saturday that should provide several more inches of snow.  Crews will be out grooming so watch for equipment on the trails.
  • If you are interested in seeing what current conditions are, there are two new web cameras at the Nordic Trails Lodge.  Go to the Natrona County website under webcamera at http://weather.natrona.net/ or http://weather.natrona.net/MtnWeather.aspx?page=WebcamSouth
  • As a reminder, please be considerate of others. The mountain trails are used by Nordic skiers, snow shoers, fat-tire bikers, etc. Please respect each other and it will be a great season.
  • Please stay off of the Nordic ski tracks if you are walking or riding bikes as the additional holes/tracks make it very hard to maintain ski trails. Please walk or ride to the side.
  • Ski passes are required for all that use the mountain trail system. Funds generated from ski pass sales go to maintaining and grooming trails. Passes can be purchased at Mountain Sports, Zeelo's, 42 Degrees North and Natrona County Roads, Bridges and Parks office in Mills.
