Extension educators enhance communities through increasing skills in communication, problem solving, decision making, leadership, goal achievement, financial skills, and networking.
Currently, the primary focus is on building community capacity by increasing community capital. Board training and community leadership development is a major program thrust.
Financial management is another key component to the program as well as rural entrepreneurship. All of the major program thrusts are centered around increasing financial, natural, built, social, political, cultural, or human capital resulting in sustainable rural communities across the state.
