Search and Rescue
Wyoming is a rural state which allows for its citizens to enjoy various outdoor related activities. At times, those activities can lead to emergency situations that involve searching for and rescuing members of the public. The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Program conducts these specialized operations by providing trained personnel and equipment in recovery of sick, injured, lost or deceased persons in austere, isolated, or other areas in Natrona County and other counties by request. Members of SAR may even assist in the recovery of property and evidence and assist investigations in areas inaccessible to other personnel.
The Search and Rescue program encourages and utilizes highly trained community volunteers who join together as a cohesive team. In hopes of augmenting and assisting the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, and its internal Search and Rescue team.
